Reviewing the Caterpillar Off-Highway Truck 770G

 A caterpillar vehicle

Caterpillar off-highway trucks have been working in the harsh conditions of mines, quarries, and construction sites for more than 50 years, all over the world. Combined with the latest technologies, these haul trucks guarantee maximum productivity at lower costs and improve the economics.

The 770G Caterpillar Truck uses an updated Traction Control System (TCS) to keep operating even on rough, unstable terrains. Discover how the truck offers a seamless experience with noise reduction, cab updates, and quality shifting.

An Engine that Maximizes Performance

The G series truck is equipped with a Cat C15 diesel engine that has been updated to meet the global emission standards. The engine provides efficient air processing, fuel delivery, electronic controls, and after-treatment. The engine software modifications allow the truck to get more work done even at lower speeds with greater fuel economy.

With the latest transmission controls working with the engine, the truck delivers greater performance.

More Productivity and Less Fuel

The G series Cat Off-Highway Truck can adjust engine power according to the operator’s needs. A reduction in power between 0.15 to 15 percent enables fuel savings during all phases of operation. The feature of adaptive economy mode for the truck requires a customer-set baseline for production. The steady state of the truck then helps evaluate opportunities to minimize power and save fuel against the baseline.

Heavy Body

The truck’s heavy-duty construction provides rated payloads on every haul. In addition to offering two body designs, the truck features optional sideboards for lightweight objects and two liner options for the Flat Floor body to achieve the best wear life.

When choosing the body type, it’s important to consider that flat-floor bodies are ideal for delivering products. In contrast, dual slope bodies are designed to offer stability and retention on grades.

Designed for Operators

The productivity of a truck depends on its operator. The Cat 770G Off-Highway Truck is updated with some key features to ensure comfort for both old and new operators. The truck is equipped with an automatic temperature control system and a power window on the left side. It also has low-effort access to get in and out of the cab with sufficient stand-up room. The seats feature air suspension to ensure excellent adjustability.
